To help children, the police department has added a Children’s Nook complete with books and stuffed animals. A safe space for children to read and relax. It has been so successful thus far that the police department is seeking donations of new stuffed animals for the Children’s Nook to give to children.
A new child care program will be opening early this summer at the former Chappelle Community School, an elementary school within the Ypsilanti Community Schools District. The Collaborative – Ypsilanti YMCA Child Development Center will be licensed by the state of Michigan.
