β€˜Tis the Season…if you’re heading out for Black Friday bargains in Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti, Saline, Milan, Dexter, or anywhere in Washtenaw County, consider supporting a long-standing community nonprofit while getting great deals on your holiday decor.

Recently, The Ann Arbor Thrift Shop was turned into a holiday wonderland, by a team of devoted volunteer merchandisers. Regular merchandise made way for amazing ornaments, gifts, jewelry, holiday housewares, and of course, the fun sweaters of the season!

Women’s, men’s, and children’s clothing are on display to help you complete your holiday shopping list, as well as wrapping paper, bags, and greeting cards.

There are also some artificial Christmas trees and wreaths for your home or organization.

The shop is closed on Thanksgiving Day, but reopens Friday, November 26th!

The Ann Arbor Thrift Shop was established in 1932 to benefit β€œhospitalized mothers” and has operated continuously ever since.Β  More than 300 member-volunteers make this Ann Arbor’s only 100% volunteer thrift shop.

A non-profit 501(c)3 organization, the funds now support Ann Arbor area residents facing financial hardships. Working with local social service caseworkers, the Thrift Shop distributes an average of $20,000 each month.

A number of local charities (Delonis Shelter, St. Andrew’s Breakfast Program, Safe House, Motor Meals of Ann Arbor) are also assisted with monthly grants to augment their services.

Support for these services come primarily from the sale of gently used clothing and housewares sold in the shop.

The Ann Arbor Thrift Shop is located at 3530 Washtenaw Avenue, Suite K. Additional information can be found at www.annarborthriftshop.org.
