Beethoven Lives Upstairs

. November 4, 2013.

What would you do if a genius musician was composing masterpieces right above you? Find out, as the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra kicks off their Family Concerts series with Beethoven Lives Upstairs. In this unique play-performance, a young boy, Christoph, lives below the famed composer; initially seeing a mean, old man, Christoph slowly grows to love the music coming from upstairs. Actors will bring the story to life on stage, while the orchestra performs Beethoven’s most popular works, including his timeless Ninth Symphony. The event is a perfect introduction for both kids and adults to music that has lasted for hundreds of years.

Show starts at 4pm; family-friendly, pre-concert activities at 2:30pm. $8 kids, $12 adults. Michigan Theater, 603 E. Liberty St. 734-994-4801.
