Ele’s Place Ann Arbor wants you to grab your walking OR running shoes and register to join them for their 2nd Annual Healing Hearts Family 5K Walk/Run on Saturday, June 25, 2022! Former and current Ele’s Place Ann Arbor families, plus the entire community are invited to participate in this family-friendly event to honor, celebrate and remember someone who has died.
In 2021, Ele’s Place Ann Arbor welcomed over 250 people – walkers, runners, sideline supporters and volunteers, along with strollers and wagons (sorry, no dogs!) – to their building for the Healing Hearts Family 5K Walk/Run! After a 12-hour threat of torrential rains, everyone enjoyed slightly overcast skies, hints of sunshine and a dry course! Together, everyone had a wonderful morning and helped raise funds to support the Ele’s Place Ann Arbor peer grief programs for children, teens and families.
This year, Ele’s Place Ann Arbor is ordering up gorgeous weather, and has a new course, thanks to Thomson Reuters, the Presenting Sponsor of the event. On the day of the event, everyone will be welcomed to the Thomson Reuters Ann Arbor Campus located at 6300 Interfirst Drive in Ann Arbor, for the walk/run, face painting, DJ music and more.
Ele’s Place Ann Arbor offers several registration options to join in the fun. Kids, ages 3 – 6, can register for the “Kids Dash,” and kids, ages 7 – 12, can register for the “Kids Mile,” at no charge. Anyone, including kids, may register for the 5K walk/run; registration fees include a t-shirt and bib number. There is also a virtual 5K walk/run option. Participants may register online here.
Register today and put “one foot in front of the other” to help fund our peer grief support programs and ensure they remain free of charge for grieving children, teens and their families – today, tomorrow and always.
Ele’s Place Ann Arbor is also recruiting volunteers to help before, during and after the event. Check out the volunteer opportunities, and sign up, here.
