A high-tech opportunity with vision

The Ann Arbor District Library shows off technology’s newest developments with the VISIONS 2010 Vendor Fair: What’s New in Technology and Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired on Wednesday, May 12. The event takes place at the Morris Lawrence Building of Washtenaw Community College (4800 E. Huron River Dr., Ann Arbor) from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Free and open to the public, sighted volunteers will be available to assist throughout the day as guests take part in hands-on demonstrations and discusses with vendors of magnifiers, support services for the blind, electronic readers, leader dogs and more. Special group demonstrations, including “What’s new in vision research?” and “Newsline: Over 300 newspapers available online for the blind,” will also take place every hour.
