On Thursday, April 1, UM Associate Professor
Petra Kuppers visits
the Ann Arbor District
Library
to foster creative expression for people with
disabilities. Kuppers will discuss her work throughout
the world as the Artistic Director of The Olimpias,
a project series that investigates the relationships between
technology, identity, a holistic understanding
of well-being, and the arts. Using dance, music and
poetry, she teaches groups those with and without
disabilities to overcome obstacles and build community.
The presentation, from 7 – 8:30 p.m., includes
videos documenting Kuppers’ creative approach to
exploring the barriers experienced by people with
