Get Outdoors

. January 29, 2013.

The Professional Paddlesports Association (PPA) offers a new way to get teens away from the television and outside enjoying nature! The PPA provides high school freshmen with the opportunity to get their “9th Grade Paddle Pass.” The program allows registered students to canoe on the Huron River in Ann Arbor for free 10 times this summer. The program is a great way for teens to better appreciate nature around them, and the outdoor activity helps reinforce the importance of exercise and outdoor time for health and development.

The pass cannot be used over the July Fourth holiday weekend and an adult must accompany all ninth grade participants. Nonetheless, the program is free for all interested ninth graders and is a way to help teens understand the importance of the great outdoors. Get off the couch and get paddling! 734-794-6240.
