CarnEvil 2 at Glenlore Trails Brings the Carnival to the Forest

CarnEvil 2 at Glenlore Trails, 3860 Newton Rd., Commerce Township, is now open for the season, providing an immersive Halloween experience for families through an illuminated one-mile forest trail.

The carnival theme is returning to the woods for a second act as CarnEvil 2 provides a continuation of CarnEvil, which was the fall theme in 2023. While there is Halloween imagery, such as skeletons, clowns and spiders, the trail is less scary than a traditional haunted house or Halloween walk-thru experience. Kids of all ages are invited to experience the lights, music and magic of CarnEvil 2.

Chanel Schoeneberger, co-founder of Glenlore Immersive Entertainment, said they “Spiced it up, brought in a lot more AI, a lot more animatronics, increased our activations, added more technology, more lighting, more audio, more sound and we’re super excited.”

Throughout the trail, there are interactive carnival games and opportunities for kids to use a magic wand to unlock illuminated interactions with the forest. With the wand, participants can customize their experience by choosing their character at the beginning of the trail, which will pop up in the many interactions throughout the walk.

“To know that people come back and say this is our new like family tradition, that is my number one most exciting part of all of this,” Schoeneberger said.

“We have food trucks out every night, typically a dessert truck and then a main meal. We also do have alcohol on site for anybody interested in a cocktail. We do hot cocoa, cider, snacks, fun little merchandise, glow stuff for the kids,” Schoeneberger said. 

This is the seventh year of Glenlore Trails and Schoeneberger said the experience continues to grow. 

“Every year we just continue to add and invest in the people, the equipment, the experience. We’re just excited to still be here and continue to grow it,” Schoeneberger said.
