The Michigan Snowsports Industries Association (MSIA), is giving Michigan kids an opportunity to get out, have fun and get healthy this winter. Cold is Cool is a state-wide program providing every fourth and fifth grader in the state with the opportunity to ski for free. Students can obtain a Cold is Cool Ski & Ride Passport that gives them up to three free lift tickets or trail passes at 30 participating ski areas. MSIA charges $20 for the passport to cover printing and shipping. In addition to lift tickets donated by the participating ski areas, some areas have included coupons for equipment rental and free or discounted lessons. Visit Snow & Sun Sports at 3780 Jackson Rd., Suite J in Ann Arbor to purchase your child’s passport. Limitations apply and most resorts require an adult-purchased lift ticket, for safety reasons.
