WonderFool Productions has opened a call for artists and creatives in Ypsilanti to help make this year’s ypsiGLOW an event to remember! This year’s ypsiGLOW will take place from Friday, October 1 until Friday, October 29. Submissions to be part of the ypsiGLOW event will be taken until 11:59pm on Thursday, September 23.
YpsiGLOW is a community-build celebration that showcases Ypsilanti’s creativity and diversity through bright art. This includes light-filled luminary processions, crazy costumes, public art installations, street art performances, music, dancing, and so much more GLOWing fun.
Wonderfool Productions Announces ypsiGLOW 2021
Being part of ypsiGLOW means you’ll be part of an array of socially distanced art and light installations all around Ypsilanti. You’ll have the opportunity to suggest where you want the installation placed for the community to see. YpsiGLOW viewers will also be able to view the lights in a socially distanced manner. Art will be visible either by car, walking, bike, or online to keep our community safe.
Additionally, this year’s ypsiGLOW will feature a virtual Facebook event and GLOW TV. GLOW TV will showcase video creations by Ypsilanti youth and local artists. There will also be the GLOW Stroll + Roll. GLOW Stroll + Roll invites everyone to dress up, mask up, light luminaries. Additionally, visitors can visit downtown Ypsilanti to see the dazzling creations and support some of the great local businesses.
This call for artists is open to all artistic disciplines. You’ll be able to showcase your art, whether it be dance, music, theater, literary, lighting, and more, for the community to see. Proposals submitted should align with this year’s theme and should highlight the power of creativity. Remember, this event is about commUNITY.Â
