Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra Grants Scholarships for Local Students

9 local high school seniors were granted the Remedios Montalbo and A. Michael Young Scholarships.

Nine local high school seniors received the Remedios Montalbo and A. Michael Young Scholarships. 

Awarded yearly since 2016, the Remedios Montalbo and A. Michael Young Scholarships (one-year $2,500) are offered in collaboration with the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra (A2SO), recognizing and supporting highly motivated college-bound seniors at Pinckney and Ypsilanti Community High Schools who will attend attend a college, university or technical school in music- or arts-related field as well as other fields of study. 

The recipients from Ypsilanti High School are Lindsay D. Timbs for a music degree and Chrishell R.S. Brown, Destiny M. Hall, Nyla C. Hood, Abdrahman Niangadou, and Ibrahim Niangadou for other areas of study.

The recipients from Pinckney High School are Audra M. Woehle for music education and Alexis N. Bogin along with Emma A. Moore for various subjects.

A2SO will be featuring their 94th concert year in September 2022 to share their love of music with over 70,000 listeners. The community can hear them play through concerts, education programs, radio broadcasts, recordings and online streaming sites.
