A Guide to 2025 Southeast Michigan Area College Fairs

For high school students, the hunt for the perfect university can feel like an enormous challenge. How do you know what college fits your specific interests and career goals? One of the ways to best inform yourself is to attend a college fair. These fairs bring together representatives from dozens (sometimes even hundreds) of colleges from all across the country and gives you the opportunity to explore and get to know a variety of different institutions of higher learning.

We have rounded up a list of select college fairs in the Southeast Michigan area for 2025. A virtual option is also included.

Metro Detroit College Fair Novi, MI, sponsored by NACAC

The National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) will be hosting their annual college fair, at the Suburban Showplace in Novi, Michigan. It will be held on April 3 between 8:30am-11:30am, and in the evening from 6-8 pm.  The event is free to attend but does require pre-registration. You can RSVP on their website by filling out a form and answering some questions. There will be close to 100 colleges from all over the country there, including the University of Alabama, Cleveland State University, Grand Valley State University, University of Michigan, Full Sail University, and California State University-Sacramento, among others. They will even have some international colleges from Scotland and England in attendance for those who wish to study abroad

Before attending, NACAC recommends that students make a list of the qualities that they are looking for in a prospective college and that are most important to them. For example, do they want to attend a large school or a smaller one? A school in a rural community, or in a big city? Do they want to obtain an associate’s degree only, or go for their bachelor’s? These questions can help to narrow down their search and give them more clarity when applying to schools.
