Just Play Family Fun Center: Fun for Kids, Relaxing for Parents

A new indoor playground is now open in Dexter for kids 2 to 10 years old. Just Play Family Fun Center offers jungle gym equipment, bouncy houses, slides, a ball pit, a soft play area for pretending and more. The child-centered indoor play space is designed to offer something for everyone. Plus, it’s open daily.

“We thought about all of the different types of play, so there’s something for kids who want to run around to get their energy out,” said Bianca Lazarte, owner. “There’s also a dollhouse and other spaces in our soft sensory play area for kids who want to play calmly with less running around.”

In fact, the whole space is focused on how kids can have fun in different ways while their parents and caregivers relax. “We don’t want mom and dad to be uncomfortable while kids play,” said Lazarte.

That means caregivers can lounge around on couches or sit at a table while the kids play, and there are beanbag chairs available for rest throughout the facility so kids can take a break.

It’s also important to note that the space has no blind spots. “We have one entrance and one exit, so there’s nowhere anyone can hide.” (Unless there’s a game of hide-and-seek going on, that is.)

A regional destination for indoor play

Guests come from all over the region. “We are noticing that this is a destination. We want to support our local community and hope everyone in Dexter loves Just Play,” said Lazarte. Memberships are available and come with perks like discounts on party packages. And Just Play has teamed up with restaurants nearby to offer food.

Everyone who comes to play must wear a pair of grip socks provided by the playground. This helps keep things clean and safe for everyone. Kids who have respiratory viruses or other contagious conditions, it goes without saying, are welcome when they feel better.

“If your kids are sick, don’t bring them here. We care about health, safety and cleanliness for all guests,” said Lazarte.

While Just Play is for kids, parents and caregivers are welcome to join their children in exploring and getting comfortable with all the playground offers. Just be sure to remove your shoes.
