Zingerman’s Cornman Farms announces that starting on Wednesday, July 15, they will be hosting a fish & chips pop-up from 4pm until 8pm. This pop-up event will run every Wednesday until August 26.
The fish & chips will be made by British chef and farm owner, Kieron Hales. This pop-up was created to bring a little joy to our currently quarantining community. Each meal will have 12 ounces of battered, golden cod fish with thick, salty chips (a.k.a. French fries). You’ll also get an array of traditional condiments and sauces. This list includes curry sauce, tartar sauce, malt vinegar, ketchup, and a lemon wedge.
“A lot of chefs have tried to ‘elevate’ fish and chips in the past. That’s not what we’re doing here — they are best when you simply follow tradition,” says Hales. “It should be a greasy delight, served on a disposable plate with a fiddly wooden fork and enjoyed in a parked car with the windows down.”
Although seating is unavailable due to coronavirus, you are able to park on the farm’s property and enjoy the scenic view of rolling fields while enjoying the delicious meal alone or with the family. Additionally, Zingerman’s Cornman Farms is near some of the most wonderful parks in the area, Mill Creek Park and Hudson Mills Metropark. It’s the perfect meal for any quarantining person or family! This pop-up is an opportunity to get outside, enjoy some delicious food, and walk through a beautiful park.

Chef Kieron Hales is a world-class chef who started his career in England. After working for a few years as Executive Chef at Zingerman’s Roadhouse, he opened Zingerman’s Cornman Farms, which focuses on bringing farm-to-table dining.
