Dinoland Ann Arbor: A Prehistoric Adventure Awaits

As the weather turns colder, you may be looking for fun, indoor activities that allow your children to engage in active play while staying warm. Check out Dinoland, a new addition to the Ann Arbor Area!

Dinoland has had great success in both Dearborn Heights and Madison Heights, and they are now bringing their business to Ann Arbor to create new opportunities for fun learning to local families.

What is Dinoland?

Dinoland is a unique experience, as it is the first dinosaur-themed indoor playground in Ann Arbor. Children ages 12 and under can explore many exciting attractions, including play structures with tunnels, slides, ziplines and bridges. Each part of the indoor playground is decorated with the dinosaur theme in mind, putting kiddos on a safari with prehistoric pals such as Tyrannosaurus Rexes and pteranodons.

In addition to dino-themed fun, Dinoland’s play area also included a Lego zone where your kids can use their creativity and imagination to build and play together. You and your family might also visit the Dinoland cafe, which included snacks, meals and beverages. Their menu includes a variety of options, and with advance notice the DinoCafe can also provide tasty party platters for a larger group. Take a minute to refuel or enjoy a little quiet before rejoining the fun.

They also have dinosaur murals throughout Dinoland Ann Arbor, hand painted by a local Michigan artist with fun educational facts below!

Planning a visit to Dinoland

There are a few different ways to enjoy Dinoland. You can simply take your family for a fun day, as reservations are not required.

Field trips are offered at Dino Land.

Dinoland also offers field trip packages for local schools. According to the Dinoland website, they provide a “great environment for kids to learn about paleontology, prehistoric life, and the giants that once roamed our planet…Each exhibit has been designed to be both educational and engaging, combining fun with a healthy dose of learning.” Such field trips are also available to daycares, homeschool groups, and summer schools.

Field trips are also offered at a discounted rate. There is a playtime only package for the children as well as a package that includes playtime and lunch (pizza and juice).

A few things to know

Planning a trip to DinoLand? One important thing to know is that children are required to wear grip socks so that they can play safely. If you don’t have grip socks, that is not a problem! These socks can be easily purchased at the DinoCafe. Waivers are also required and can be requested in advance online or provided in the front lobby.
