Kerrytown is about to get a much-needed makeover. The City and the Downtown Development Authority are spending millions of dollars to redesign 5th Avenue and Detroit Street by the Farmers Market and Community High, one of Ann Arbor’s most highly trafficked areas and considered by many to be the heart of the city. The construction is scheduled to begin in early April and finish in November. A number of parking spaces near the market will be out of service during construction, so the DDA will allow free parking in the Ann/Ashley garage on Saturdays from 7am to 3pm through November.
