SCRAP Creative Reuse Gives Back to Teachers with Free Classroom Supply Giveaway

SCRAP Creative Reuse is giving teachers a chance to pick up items they need before the school year.

To celebrate our hardworking and ingenious educators, SCRAP Creative Reuse will be giving teachers free art supplies. On August 13 and 14 from 10am to 7pm, SCRAP will be offering a free teacher supply bag to all tax-except eligible teachers. All you’ll need to do is show your teacher I.D. or tax-exempt paperwork.

SCRAP was started by a group of school teachers who were determined to get every use possible out of leftover project materials. They are a nonprofit organization whose mission is to inspire creative reuse and environmentally sustainable behavior by providing educational programs and affordable materials to the community.

“We have a long history of supporting our local educators at SCRAP,” says Claire Tyra, SCRAP Creative Reuse Director. “We want to continue to be a creative and reuse resource for local educators. We value our teachers and schools so much and we know how hard this last year has been. We want to make sure we can offer some support.”

The supply table that teachers are able to pick items up includes paper, pens, pencils, crayons, markers, and various craft and classroom supplies. Additionally, educators who get their tax-exempt paperwork on file at SCRAP before the start of the school year will be entered into a raffle. The raffle gives teachers a chance to receive one of two SCRAP gift certificates as well as 10% off on their purchase.

If you’re a teacher, be sure to check out the event on August 13 and 14. Be sure to visit while supplies last!
