Travel to Japan at the Detroit Institute of Arts’ new Japan Gallery, opening to the public on Saturday, November 4, and enjoy a plethora of Japanese cultural events for families. From 6-9pm on Friday, November 3, enjoy a workshop on making your own Japanese-style paper fan, called uchiwa. From noon-4pm on Friday through Sunday, November 10-12, create collage portraits out of mixed papers, cloth and other simple objects.
