Kitchen skills

Ann Arbor’s Food Gatherers exists not only to alleviate hunger, but to eliminate its causes in the community. That’s why the organization offers job training for homeless youth or those
in foster care between the ages of 16 and 20. Participatns can learn culinary skills to make themselves more marketable in a career while helping others.

Students cook the meals for the homeless kitchen and become serve safe certified. Once they complete the class, some continue in a paid internship also offered by Food Gatherers, in which they learn more in-depth kitchen skills.

Anyone interested in this program is encouraged to contact Missy Miller at missy@foodgatherers.org
