You’ve got a kid with a healthy creative side, and a winning way with words. Now they’ve got somewhere besides a classroom to show it off, as the Ann Arbor District Library presents this year’s It’s All Write Short Story Contest. Now in its 20th year, the contest invites students in three age brackets (Grades 6 to 8, 9 to 10 and 11 to 12) to contribute their original tales, from four to eight pages in length, with cash prizes for the winners. Submissions will be accepted from Monday, January 28 through Friday, March 15, and winners will be announced at a special event at the Downtown Library on Saturday, May 11. Nationally-known author A.S. King will be on hand to present the awards. Last year over 300 kids participated, so now’s the time to get typing!
