My kids and I LOVED the first “Hoodwinked” movie, so we’re really looking forward to seeing what they do with this one. I’ll miss Anne Hathaway as the voice of Red, but Hayden Panettiere will do a great job, too. She voices a teen Red Riding Hood, training in a distant land with a mysterious, covert group called the Sister Hoods. But Red and the Wolf (Patrick Warburton) are soon called upon by Nicky Flippers (DavidOgden Stiers), the head of the Happily Ever After Agency, to investigate the disappearance of Hansel and Gretel (Bill Hader and Amy Poehler). Sounds like fun!
Rated PG for mild language, some rude humor and sports action.
In theaters 1/22. Ok for kids 7+. 3 out of 5 Reels.

Dwayne Johnson has carved out a nice little niche doing family movies (“Planet 51,” “Race to Witch Mountain,” “The Game Plan”), and he continues that trend here. He plays Derek Thompson, a.k.a. “The Tooth Fairy,”a minor league hockey player whose nickname comes from his habit of separating opposing players from their teeth! But when Derek discouragesa youngster’s hopes, he’s sentenced to one week’s hard labor as a real tooth fairy, complete with the requisite tutu, wings and magic wand. As you might guess, he learns a few things about himself in the process.
