Ann Arbor District Library’s Summer Game Has Begun!

The Ann Arbor District Library Summer Game began on Friday June 10 — the last day of school in Ann Arbor and goes until Sunday August 28! The Game is back for its 12th year with all the things Summer Game players have come to know and love, plus a few extra special surprises sprinkled throughout the summer.

Readers of all ages are encouraged to play the Summer Reading Game where kids and teens who read or listen to 10 books get Summer Game points and a free book, while adults who read, listen to, or consume 10 anythings (books, movies, podcast episodes, you name it!) get Summer Game points and a coupon to the Friends of the Ann Arbor District Library shop.

Everyone can hunt codes throughout all five AADL locations, plus extras sprinkled all around town in the windows of AADL partner organizations and businesses. There are even codes on the AADL delivery truck, in print publications, and on a billboard somewhere in the city. You can also spot codes driving all over town on the sides of AAATA buses.

Speaking of buses, AAATA and AADL have partnered for Free Ride Weekends all summer long, where AADL cardholders can ride TheRide for free on Saturdays and Sundays by showing their Library cards. Free Ride Weekends start June 11 and go to the end of the Summer Game on August 28.

Players can also earn badges for completing online challenges at play.aadl.org, or participating in things like the ever-popular Points-O-Matic!

Completing all these tasks earns points that can be used in the Summer Game Shop, which opens in mid-July. The shop contains prizes like stuffed animals, t-shirts, an AADL tote bag, pop-up lantern, coffee from Roos Roast, tea from Arbor Teas, AADL calendars, and so much more.

The Summer Game is open to players of all ages—it’s not just for kids! Players don’t need to have a Library card to participate.
