Introducing Alexis, Zoë and the Squishy Kitty Slime Company
The Squishy Kitty Slime Company is a locally owned company that produces a variety of colorful, delicious-smelling, high-quality slime for any occasion! An exploration of their website shows a kind of slime for pretty much every person: ballet-themed slime, University of Michigan slime, and even lava-themed slime! They also have a plethora of great smelling slime, including creative scents such as carrot cake, green apple boba, strawberry milk, and mint chip.
How did this business get started? Meet Alexis and Zoë, the mother-daughter duo who developed Squishy Kitty Slime.
According to Alexis, “Zoë was very into slime from age seven — she wanted to make all the slime! After many fun (and sometimes messy!) experiments, we finally figured out how to make great slime. Once we realized how many of Zoë’s friends were into it too, and how endless the creative possibilities were, we decided to launch a business!
Zoë’s first big moment came when she sold our creations at the Children’s Entrepreneur Market in Chelsea — and it was a hit!”

Growing a mother-daughter business
As the business has continued to grow, Alexis and Zoë have found much joy in working together and sharing the slime with the community. They especially enjoy getting to meet customers at craft shows where they can share their product and their excitement in person.
Working together is an especially rewarding experience. When asked about teaming up as a family, Zoë enthused, “I love bouncing different ideas off each other and making them real!”
Alexis adds, “Spending all this time together, whether it’s making slime or driving to a craft show, is such a treasure — especially because kids grow up so fast. We work hard, laugh a lot and have learned to be a great team.” They also add that Zoë’s little brother Leonardo contributes as well, and that he especially loves showing customers how to play with the slime!
Why Squishy Kitty Slime?
Alexis and Zoë take pride in creating the highest possible quality of slime! According to Alexis, “We use premium fragrance oils (the same ones used in fancy candles and soaps!) so they smell great. Grownups especially tell us how much they love our scents.”
They also spend time experimenting with new recipes so that their creations are always improving. They utilize their creativity to create many unique options so that every slime enthusiast can find a product to get excited about. They use seasons and holidays to create special types of slime, and also prioritize listening to their customers to come up with fun new textures, colors and scents.
Alexis states, “Each slime is a one-of-a-kind creative theme — it’s a true little work of art!”
My family can speak personally to the quality of the Squishy Kitty Slime Company, as we got to play with samples while writing this article.
The kids were ecstatic, raving “The slime feels and smells super good! It isn’t hard to unstick and it’s really fun too. I like that it comes from a family-owned company and that it’s being run by a kid like me.”
As a mom who has had some messy (and even bad-smelling) experiences with slime, I was most impressed with the delicious scents and fun textures! And the best part? Playing with the slime provided us with fun and sensory family time together!
