Washtenaw County offers a vibrant selection of summer camps designed to keep kids active, creative, and engaged. From music and visual arts to sports, science and technology, these programs provide meaningful experiences that help children build confidence, develop new skills, and make lasting friendships. With offerings for preschoolers through teens, and both half-day and full-day options, families can find the perfect fit for a fun and memorable summer. If you have not yet established summer camp plans, it is not too late! These camps still have openings, but it is best to act fast.

Ann Arbor Rec & Ed Summer Camps

Rec & Ed summer camps are the place your kids want to be! Campers are invited to have fun, form friendships, find new talents, and gain confidence with a summer they won’t forget. The possibilities are endless with art, science, music, dance, chess, robotics, drama, sports and more. Summer camps run June 23–August 18, 2025, with half-day and full-day options for campers ages 5–13. Early Childhood Camps offer half-day drop-off camps for ages 3–5.5. Summer camps will be held at various AAPS school locations.

There are still openings for a few of the Michigan Women Gymnastics Camps being offered this summer. June 12-13 is the Wolverine Recreational Camp for Pre-K through third grade — all genders are welcome. The first session of all level camps is sold out, however, there is still openings in the second session from July 8-10. This camp is recommended for children 3rd grade and up. The Elite Prospect Camp also has openings from July 12-13.

Riverside Arts Camp

Art enthusiasts are encouraged to sign up for Riverside Art Camp for a fun week of artistic adventures. The theme for the year is “Art For All” and involves hands-on fun for kids who love to explore art and use their imagination. Campers can choose from six weeks from June 23 to Aug. 8. Sessions run Monday- Friday from 10am-3pm. It costs $300/weekly for non-Ypsilanti residents and $285/weekly for Ypsilanti residents through a discount code.

OZ’s Music Camps

OZ’s Music Camps will run throughout the summer with half day and full day options. Half days are wither 9am-12pm or 1-4pm and cost $290. full day camps are from 9am-4pm and cost $525. They also offer a Know Obstacles Camp, a week-long interactive music camp designed for individuals aged 8 through adulthood with special needs, that is $290 for a two-hour session (10am-12pm) or (1-3pm). Other camps include ​Meet the Instruments Camp (All Instrument Families), ​Happy Songs: Mindful Songwriting for Kids with Joe Reilly, ​The Form Your Own Camp Camp!, Rock Band Camp and ​Jazz Improv Class.
