education, child development, school
psychology, social work and arts education.
All of our teachers possess BA and
MA level training. Our provided family
consultants are volunteer mental health
specialists whose work with parents
is designed to help them discover the
proven tools for informed and “intentional”
parenting through workshops,
discussion groups and specialized help,
when needed. Allen Creek's approach to
the whole child is supported by the most
current research on early development
and education. In children we foster
creativity and social relationships while
promoting active learning, exploration,

flexibility. The result is a joyful,
sturdy, resilient, confident, thoughtful

Two teachers in every Daycroft classroom ensure individualized learning for your child. Daycroft’s preschool program is recognized as one of Ann Arbor’s best. We have been an educational leader in the community since 1968. With our teachers’ guidance, your preschooler makes choices, develops life-long skills and discovers the joy of learning. Supporting academic excellence, the Montessori developmental aims – order, independence, concentration, coordination, self-confidence and self-discipline – are introduced in our preschool and continue through eighth grade. Our preschool curriculum emphasizes practical life, sensory education, language arts, mathematics, science and creative play. Preschool begins at the age of 30 months. Flexible scheduling lets you mix full-day sessions and half-day sessions from week to week, and during any week, as needed. Before-school and after-school care are available. We also offer a parent-toddler class, our Fundays program, and after-school enrichment programs.

At Generations Together children learn
by doing with our preschool, kindergarten
and school age programs. Our program
is based on an internationally recognized
approach developed by High/
Scope Educational Research Foundation,
which is approved by the National Association
for the Education of Young
Children (NAEYC). Generations' 12,000-
square foot building is entirely barrierfree,
nestled in a wooded, natural setting
next to Creekside Intermediate School on
Baker Road. Each age group has its own
areas and its own activities, encouraging
contact between generations without
forcing it, in a physical and social environment
with its own Program Director
and specially trained staff. Does the
High/Scope approach work? Almost 40
years of research indicates High/Scope
programs advance the development of
children and improve their chance of living
a better life throughout adulthood.
