Art Center bringing kids and supplies together

The Ann Arbor Art Center is hoping to inspire kids to explore their creative side during quarantine with its ArtBox program.

Funded by donations from the community, ArtBox sees children in the Ann Arbor community receive a package full of a slew of supplies for budding artists to use, from crayons and paints to markers, pencils, paper and more.

In addition, each ArtBox features a packet of suggestions for art projects that kids can make in their own home. Ideas for new projects will be posted every week on the Ann Arbor Art Center website.

The Art Center announced in a press release that it is working with partners such as the Community Action Network in Washtenaw to find children who may not have access to art supplies, and is asking any organization that serves needy young people to contact the Art Center for more information.

Each ArtBox is made possible through a $30 donation to the Art Center. Any individuals or organizations interested in donating to the program, or who simply want to buy an ArtBox themselves, can do so on the Art Center website.
