Girl Scouts Celebrates National S’mores Day

Wednesday, August 10th is National S’mores Day, and Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan invites everyone to celebrate it the Girl Scout way!

Did you know that Girl Scouts invented s’mores and published the first s’mores recipe in 1927 calling them “some mores”? So everyone has Girl Scouts to thank for the delicious gooey s’mores in addition to their favorite Girl Scout Cookie!

The Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan are taking National S’mores Day as an opportunity to share with the public what it means to be a Girl Scout and what unique opportunities we offer.

On August 10th come down to the Girl Scout Regional Center located at 1671 Plymouth Road, Ann Arbor, MI 48105 between 4:00pm-7:00pm to play some games, make a craft, take part in a STEM activity, and of course make some s’mores!

This is a free event that is open to everyone, and is geared toward girls who are not yet Girl Scouts but are interested in learning more. Bring the entire family and some friends with you to join in on the fun!

For questions about the event you can email helpdesk@gshom.org or call 800-497-2688.
