There are so many great kid activities in Washtenaw County, but not all of them are baby friendly. If you’re looking for great events that your babies can enjoy, look no further. And, every single thing on this page is 100% free.
Places
There are places that are free year round that are perfect in the fall. Museums such as the Natural History Museum, or gardens like the Matthaei Botanical Gardens. You can also visit any of the lakes for a picnic, hike trails like the Border-to-border trail, enjoy the endless parks, including the new Chelsea Michigan main street park that opened this August, or visit any of the numerous farmer’s markets.
Events
There are also amazing events to check out. Some are recurring, such as Chelsea Library’s Babytime, where your littles can sing, listen to stories and enjoy free play.

There are a couple festivals coming up! There’s the folk festival, with live music and demonstrations, and the Fall Festival at Country Farm Park, which has apple tasting, pumpkin painting and a playground. Both are free to enter, though money can be spent on items, food, etc.
Holidays
Looking for something to do around the holidays? For Halloween, check out Trunk or Treats! There are multiple on different days, which is great. One favorite to highlight is the Spooktacular Trunk or Treat. There’s also trick or treating, which is spread out at different times, so pick your favorite area and get some free chocolate!
There’s also the Trick or Treat Parade with spooky dancing and giveaways.
Family fun
That’s not all! Chelsea Michigan has a Fall Market and National Jiffy Day, Ypsilanti has a Baby Rave (What!? Can’t wait!) and Destination Ann Arbor’s Website boasts different Fall leaves you can hunt down for pictures with your little one.
