Ann Arbor Summer Festival Announces New Events for ‘Not Too Close’ Series

The Ann Arbor Summer Festival (A2SF) is excited to announce a few new events for their Not Too Close series. You’ll be able to enjoy an evening of live performances or late night movies while picnicking in some of the best parks Ann Arbor has to offer. The City of Ann Arbor Parks and Recreation Department has been working closely with the A2SF to try and bring us some of the best summer events they possibly can while still ensuring the safety of our community. As outlined in the governor’s current executive orders, attendance to these events will be capped at 100 people per event, and will follow strict safety protocols to ensure everyone has a safe, fun time. Because of the limit on the number of people who are allowed to attend the events in-person, you’ll need to reserve your free tickets as soon as possible. Walk up guests will not be allowed into the events. Each concert will be re-broadcast at a later date on the A2SF social media channels. The Not Too Close events are presented in partnership with the Ann Arbor District Library (AADL) and are also part of the AADL’s Summer Game. This gives players of all ages a chance to enjoy the live entertainment outside and get those sweet rewards for the AADL Summer Game. The following events have been added to the Not Too Close series. Each event location will be disclosed in the registration form on the event webpage. Featured Event Storytelling with La’Ron Williams – 3pm Thursday, August 13 Concerts Sumkali – 5:30pm Thursday, August 13 Dani Darling – 7:30pm Thursday, August 13 Movie The Wiz – 10pm Saturday, August 15 The A2SF has been working hard to give us the best summer they can and, so far, they’ve done an amazing job.
