Family-friendly. It’s why Dr. Mark Chappell-Lakin and his family chose to move to the Ann Arbor area last year, and it’s an attribute he believes makes his new Ann Arbor chiropractic center unique. A licensed chiropractor, Dr. Chappell-Lakin, a husband and father of three, opened the Live Well Chiropractic Center in January.

His practice serves people of all ages – even as young as newborns – and aims to make chiropractic care accessible. The office features a children’s area in the waiting room and larger patient rooms with extra space for kids to play while mom or dad receive an adjustment. With a central location in downtown Ann Arbor, the Center offers validated parking for the structure a half-block away. “We just love it here,” Chappell-Lakin says of the Ann Arbor area, where he chose to open his practice after completing his chiropractic training at Life Universityin Georgia.

Despite being home to a major medical school, the Ann Arbor area is also home to many interested in alternative types of care, according to Chappell-Lakin.“What I’m finding is that there are a lot of people searching for alternatives, that they really want to try to work towards health, and maintaining health, as naturally as possible,” he says. “Those are the people that would be drawn to what I have to offer.”

If you’re unsure whether chiropractic is right for you, Dr. Chappell-Lakin encourages people to come in for a visit and learn more about the process.“So many people don’t know what chiropractic is or what a chiropractor really does. Come in and go through an initial exam process and the report of findings and get a feel for what I do and why,” he says.

The Live Well Chiropractic Center is located at 204 E. Washington St. 734-686-3035. www.livewellchiropracticcenter.com
