A local nutrition and chiropractic center continues to find success.
The Nutritional Healing Center of Ann Arbor, which specializes in Nutrition Response Testing, recently added two new practitioners to the office and is looking at expanding into a bigger space or adding a second office. Nutrition Response Testing analyzes and treats “the whole body,” treating the cause of symptoms instead of just the symptoms. “We help people heal their bodies with nutrition,” said Jessica Bonesteel, executive office manager at the center.

The office has been in its current location for about four-and-a-half years, but founder Dr. Darren Schmidt has been practicing in Ann Arbor since 2000. Bonesteel said the office sees many women between ages 35 to 55, however they are prepared to treat all ages. Parents often bring in children who have trouble focusing in school, or those who are struggling with digestive issues, she said. “We get down to the root cause,” she said, adding that identifying food sensitivities is often helpful. “A lot of times simple changes that the parent can make help the child immensely.” A more natural approach to healthcare is popular in the Ann Arbor area, Bonesteel adds. “The community is much more aware and conscious of eating healthier, and local food, local meats and local vegetables – there's a lot more awareness about that,” she said.
