Parents of children from 18 months to three years have a chance to introduce their kids to the wider world, as Ann Arbor’s Daycroft Montessori School launches its 2011 series of Montessori Fundays. The series gives young children a taste of the uniquely personalized Montessori approach to learning, through short sessions with Daycroft’s teachers. This is the second year for the program, which offers five-or-six-week programs of two 90-minute sessions per week. Students are given introductory lessons in the Montessori style, where they collaborate in process and make choices about what they will learn. The early fall program runs from the week of September 12 through the week of October 12. The late fall session runs from October 24 through the week of December 12, with a week off for the Thanksgiving holiday. Programs for winter and spring will follow.
Sessions are available on Monday and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays, and run from 9-10:30am. $200 for a five-week program, $240 for six weeks. The programs fill up fast, so register soon. 100 E. Oakbrook Dr. 734-930-0333. www.daycroft.org
