Kids love to swim, and parents don’t mind. Swimming is a way to keep cool and keep in shape — and it’s a potentially lifesaving skill. There’s a fun and friendly new place for young kids to get in the swim, as Goldfish Swim School opens its new Ann Arbor location this month on West Stadium Boulevard. Founded in 2006 by Jenny McCuiston, a former champion high school and college swimmer, Goldfish rapidly grew to teach thousands of children a week at its Birmingham location. Now the company plans to sell franchises throughout the midwest, with a location in Farmington Hills preceding the Ann Arbor school, and more to follow. With its bright, colorful decor and programs for children as young as four months, it’s a great way to get your child ready for a life in the water.

Classes start at $78 a month, with discounts available for multiple children. Call or stop by to register. 2107 W. Stadium Blvd. 734-864-5555. www.goldfishswimschool.com
